Fun Dip for Breakfast
Posted in Family Life on July 1st, 2008 by timJacob. Today. 8:40 am, after waking me up at 5am this morning, eventually falling back to sleep and leaving me wide awake.
“Dad” (yelling into my headphones. I’m working). “Can I have some breakfast?”
“Sure son, what would you like”. I notice a little late that he’s disappeared into his room.
“Can I have this?” Jacob is holding a pack of Fun Dip, one of those candy packages that has a stick and a bag of candy powder. It’s like a
supercharged pixie stick that requires more work.
“No son, you can’t have Fun Dip for breakfast.”
“Ok. Ice Cream!”
“No son, you can’t have ice cream for breakfast. Let’s think breakfast food, please.”
“Ok, pancakes with Ice Cream!”
“Yes to the pancakes. No to the Ice Cream.”
“Rats. Ok.” I turn around to type this out, because I have to remember this conversation. It feels important to remember this typical kid moment with my son.
“Dad…Coffee?!”
Geez. Here we go again…
